Music Intro:

RT: Hello and Welcome to CorkRules!

I’m your host Robert Tas along with my special guest Evan Goldstein master sommelier of the San Francisco Giants.

Hello Evan, thanks for being here on CorkRules, - a podcast where we help simplify and demystify the wine lists at some of our favorite restaurants, wine bars and now venues. We talk with certified sommeliers, wine/food professionals who point out interesting bottles, classic food and wine pairings, hidden gems,  value wines, or splurge wines that will take your our experience over the top.

EG: Thank you so excited to be here.

RT: Evan, I’m super excited to be talking today given your wine chops but want to start with learning a little more about you and how you ended up being the somm for SF Giants?

EG: (How did it come about, what else do you do in the business, fun fact, etc.)

RT:  I see the intersections of wine increasing in sports across the board. Athletes are actually leading the charge in basketball and fabulous stadium venues like yours evaluating experiences. Can you talk about how the SF Giants/you are thinking about that?

EG: (Give a little history, overview of the place, vibe, etc.)

RT: Sounds amazing, when I lived in SF I was season ticketholder and was always blown away by the experience you all put on. Alright, let’s pivot and talk about the wine programs. I know opening days is just around the corner. Can you give us an overview of how your thinking about the wines?

EG: (Give a list overview, how you all think about curating the list. Name specific producers)

RT: Very cool. Anything on your list that’s a must try?

EG: (Name 1-2 wines that are a little nerdy, be specific).

RT: Awesome. How about something off the beaten path. Help push me palate?

EG: (Name 1-2 unique wine, be specific).

RT: Fabulous. How about if I’m celebrating something special?

TEG: (Name 1-2 baller wines, be specific).

RT: Those are fabulous suggestions. Evan it has been a pleasure to talk with you about the SF Giants and its fabulous wine program. I will be definitely stopping by on my next visit to bay area.
